31 March 2012 Rapid bay Second valley both great dive and fishing spots but overcast and windy when we were there . Noarlunga beach and reef hoping to snorkel here but weather hasn t improved so we head into Adelaide city .It still has many beautiful stone buildings and easy to drive around because of its layout
1 April 2012 Up into the hills to Williamstown and it’s a roadside camp tonight Josie s a little worried .Where up early only to find out that the cellar doors don’t open until 11 am so we work on computers .Into the Barossa valley at Tanunda and first stop and im having a fat time tasting wines .When Josie notices a giant prickly pear plant in the garden bearing fruit .Josie and two female staff conversing about the wonders of prickly pear fruit boring and I have to but in to get some more wine samples .Josie says she would like some prickly pears and the lady says help your self . Josie hasn t got any gloves I say between sips no worries ill just push her in there .They don’t laugh were is their sense of humuor sour pusses.They just looked at me and then Josie and then one of them offered to pick a dozen for Josie must be a work place health and safety thing .Josie is driving now and we stop to do some port tasting keep em coming trick here is to make it seem like you cant make up your mind and you get more free tasting feeling good now everything is wonderful in the world hungry now had to have a pizza .Drove to Edithburg caravan park and princess powder puff is tired from all that driving now she wont cook my dinner what a pussie .I have no chips to go with my beer would be nice if she told me she was going to strike when we were at the shops .Now I have to make her a coffee and its toast and milo for my dinner at least there s no washing up .Josie on computer now ,suddenly she has come to life .About 11 pm Josie goes for a shower and I have got door code wrong She cant get in thats karma . I say next time cook my dinner and make me a pie and I will be able to remember .After some discussion Josie finally showers in mens amenities .I think today was some kind of april fools day .
2 April 2012 Prickly pear fruit for brekky yum and then swim and snorkel at Kemp bay saw seal rubbing his face with his flippers .Another swim and snorkel at Foul bay saw a port Jackson shark about 70 cm long . Had lunch here it was so windy here that the car doors would slam shut .Council actually used their brains (world first) and made heavy concrete picnic tables so they don’t blow away and gives you something to hold onto while your lunch flies out too sea brilliant .Saw some dolphins jumping or maybe the wind caught them . Marion bay great spot and site of old gypsum mine .
3 April 2012 Innes national park where right at the bottom of the Yorke Peninsula and we walk to Stenhouse bay jetty and the gypsum loading ruins . Lookout at Cape Spencer light house then the town of Inneston for more ruins and another gypsum mine .The wreck of the Ethel not much to see here just some steel sticking out of sand and big seas with air exploding out the back of the breaking waves . West Cape lighthouse and its exterior is stainless steel , pandalowie bay to check out the surf and its rough today .
4 April 2012 Point Deburg and we camp on beach track as there is no room between cliffs and beach .Swim in natural rock pool as it shelters us from big surf . Waves sounded close at night got up to find tide had come up beach close to tent . Corny point lighthouse for a quick stop. Minlaton for some shopping and to replace the kettle that the possum broke Josie doesn t believe me .Moonta for some Cornish pasties and chocolate that’s lunch and dinner .Moonta mine museum and we both come out drowsy Josie remind me never to go to another museum .
5 April 2012 Port Broughton walked jetty lots of cuttle fish being caught and squid south Australians seem to like fishing for these .Josie s birthday and I make brekky morning tea and dinner and I have to be nice to her all day this is killing me . Camped at Warrabara sports field and we are too late to get shower key .We check amenities and Josie washes at cold tap .On our way back I spot light on at back of another building and work out that I can open womens shower by climbing through window .In I go and while my arms are in window Josie takes this opportunity and gropes my bum twice .I liked it she was gentle I had a hot shower Josie didn t bother ,
6 April 2012 Nearly packed up and a bloke drives over to me and strikes up a conversation wants to sell me his camper trailer No thanks .Continues talking for about an hour got his life story now and I m thinking bit of a Yobbo and then he answers all questions he tells me he used to live at regents park I reskon I could have guessed that in one go .Escaped from there and into Telowie gorge walked up about a kilometer and Josie decides to climb a steep hill she s slipping and sliding I can already picture her life less body tumbling down and ill get the blame for it .After a while the pathetic calls start can you come and help me another lesson learnt here princess if you climb up you have to think about how your going to get down . That was all the help I was offering Josie said im cruel that made me feel really good . Mt Remarkable Josie has gone all weak on me as we walk around Alligator gorge she looks like she s about to fall asleep .Great gorge walk with red cliffs on both sides .

2012 Kangaroo island our usual arrival
time at camp susnset .I found a nice spot at Wheatons beach D estree bay it isn t a designated camp site
so Josie is all worried and nervous .Im settled in with my beer and chips over
looking the ocean no worries here .
27 March
2012 Walked on Wheatons beach and found
a seal sleeping on a bed of sea weed
took some photos seal got grumpy if I got too close .Thought seal might
make a good partner for Josie .. Josie
wasn’t amused no sense of humour seal feeling rejected went back to sleep like
a male he deals with rejection easily
where used to it .Went to seal bay visitors centre read about seals $58 for
guided seal tour we just saw one for free .Lunch at Bale beach .Walk around
Vivonne bay and Harriet river bit windy
today the weather not me got Josie to piggy back me across some shallow water
training is going well ..Flinders chase
national park and the Remarkable rocks for some silly photos . Not far from there Weirs cove and house
where they brought all their supplies for three months up a steep cliff .Cape
de Coudic lighthouse and Admirals arch where there were lots of seals that smelt like wee . Camp tonight at West bay got
in about 8 45 and we are greeted by possums the biggest fattest one you can
pat . Walked Josie to toilets she nagged me to do it Just don’t comment on
that it still haunts me anyway while we were gone fat boy possum climbs into
the back of the car and is sitting there like budda eating a loaf of bread so I
grabbed him by the fur and he did a flying exit into the bush with the bread
still in his claws . Apparently he ate the rest of the chocolate broke the
kettle and misplaced everything Josie is really cranky at him .
28 March
2012 Flinders chase visitor
centre and we go on platypus lagoon walk
,we only see cape barren geese and a couple of koala s. Western river
cove and we go for a swim and snorkel around rocks .Man comes down for a swim
and strips of naked at opposite end of beach Josie see s this as a competition
and quickly undresses and hauls out the big guns .Man realising he is no match
for such artillery promptly dresses and leaves beach . Josie was feeling quite
proud of herself he was no match for our
Josie .
29 march
2012 Stayed overnight at Western river
cove and we have mice running around us getting into our rubbish .In the
morning one last swim and snorkel . Josie empties car and repacks because she
found some mice poo .Im going nuts here why why
why do women do this I want to start drinking but Josie refuses to drive
on dirt roads .Walked Snake lagoon and im hoping there will be thousands of
snakes the lethal variety not one whimps
.Lunch at Snake lagoon and I still want
a drink .Off to Snelling beach for a walk .Stokes bay and first impression was
all right beach is covered in rocks . But you walk through rocks lnto a cave
that leads you out to a beautiful beach with a natural rock pool .We swam and
snorkelled here for half a day.

March Camped at Emu bay another
great meal by Josie where she used every dish we have and I washed up beer and
chips is so much easier . Drove to Cliffords honey farm for some honey tasting
and ice cream .In to Kingscote for lunch
and Josie has stepped in poo it stinks .I said to her to throw her
thongs out the car and she can have mine until we can buy new ones . But she
insists she can clean them .Its Poo you cant clean them you have to throw them
away Josie won and kept them disgusting
they had poo on them you cant erase that knowledge. Drove in to
Penneshaw for camp and travel back to Cape Jervis SA in morning .

19 march
2012 Mouth of Fitzroy river blowing and cold woke up to mist on river was
hard to get started in these temperatures went for a swim in surf that snapped
me out my sleepy state and pulled all my
wrinkles out .We were the only ones swimming
Victorians don’t even swim in this sort of cold .Arrived at Portland walked around town
admiring all the historic buildings .Caravan park tonight hot showers are such a luxury . Josie is still talking the walls of my tent
offer no protection at all .When she
talks I can go for a shower and can still hear her in the shower and return and
she doesn’t even notice I was gone .

2012 Gannet rookery at Portland
with maremma guard dogs and rifle range right behind us .Lets go Josie sounds
ideal , again disappointment nobody
there shooting unbelievable, how unlucky am I . Cape Nelson lighthouse and
Josie wouldn’t go near the edge she s a bit touchy here, must have some mental health issues .Fantastic coastal
scenery along road to Cape Bridgewater swam at bridgewater beach again only
ones in water .Walked to the enchanted forest with rare moonah trees . Walked
headland to view seal colony . .Drove to
blow hole and petrified forest type formations in eroded rock .Drove through Mt
Richmond saw echidnas crossing roads on way to Discovery bay coastal park .
Sitting outside warm night until about 9 30 when a cold change came through
with a gust off wind and the temperature fell immediately .

2012 Princess Margaret rose cave on the
banks of the Glenelg river impressive stalactites and stalagmites great
commentary with four blokes on our tour was like watching the movie [wild hogs
].Mt Gambier blue lake walked rim of crater Josie complaining again about every
downhill walk there s an uphill walk .I think they fenced the crater just for
these moments Engelbretch cave with
kiwi guide whom married local that explored cave when he was a kid .Walked
Umpherstons sink hole and Cave garden at
night

2012 Over night in centre
Mt Gambier spent half day on computer under Josie s orders absolute torture for me .
Josie s smiling offering words of encouragement like You Have To Do It .Bought
myself a new tent today and an orange beanie now my tent and beanie are more
flash than Josie s .

2012 Camped at Picaninnie ponds blowing
and showers here tonight wind was so strong tent was folding in on me, Josie complained
she didn’t sleep I had no problem .Camping tip don’t camp where they position
wind powered generators they may have actually picked a spot that’s windy
.

2012 Walked to Picaninnie pond
wasn’t going snorkelling to cold and windy yes im soft and no I not going to
harden up .Mt Shank where we met our guide the friendly dog she walked with us
all the way around .Waited with us while a shower of rain went over and left us
at the carpark not sure if we were supposed to give a donation in the form of a
yummy doggy treat .Millicent museum much bigger than I thought, started getting sleepy towards the end
.Istarted for the exit and Josie said it wasn t the exit so we spent another
ten minutes in the museum wandering
around looking for her exit that did not exist .I know I shouldn t have
listened to her directions she caught me at a weak moment .Drove to Beachport
great beach and jetty but the whole place smells like poo Josie said it’s the
seaweed, I think she was trying to cover up a severe bottom burp still debating
that one .

Camped little Dip national park showers all night and early morning into
Robe and its turned into a top day so after a walk around town we had lunch on the
foreshore with historic stone buildings behind us .We are eating so much I feel
like we are chewing our way around Australia leaving a trail of empty shelves
and bones in our wake .I need a step ladder to go to the toilet . Coorong
National park an area of coastal dunes and lakes stopped at chinamans well
where they cut a piece of rock to form a cap for their well about 1.2m in diameter . Further along and we
find a salt lake that used to produce salt for local markets .Has similar
colourings to lake Eyre .
25 March
2012 Coorong national park camp at Long Point pelican breeding area great spot lots of
birds and the fish were jumping .Travelled on free ferries that run twenty four
hours a day to get across lake at Narung and Murray river at Wellington . Morning tea at Milang after emptying bakery
.Goolwa very busy tourist town walked
around admiring historic buildings . Had a look at Goolwa barrage they use this
to control water levels and separate sea water and fresh water. Drove through
Victor harbour very pretty town .

as set up camp .

2012 Stumbled across Talisker silver and lead mine on our way to Cape Jervis .
We explored mine site and even crawled up part of the flue on the way to the lookout .Kangaroo island ferry and you
have to pay for vehicle and passengers separately I think this is a rort we must be spoilt in
Qld .

As you can see in our photos i have attempted to use our picnic rug as a body bag Josie was asleep just a dry run ..Josie would like to show you all the difference in packing the car, bit of a sore point dont ever tell a woman your way is just as good they wont ever accept that.

His method is toss everything out the car before he finds it. (girls systems rule, men just cant admit defeat, LOL)
Darren & i mucking around as usual, acting like big kids, trying to put our heads between the rocks at Penneshaw beach on Kangaroo Is.
These beautiful Pelicans, were at Emu Bay on the boat ramp, waiting for the fisherman, not willing to move much when u walk by them. (I think Kangaroo islanders r confused about Emu's as the place was full of Pelicans)
